 8^th March celebration by peasant’s women

Anjmana Mozareen Punjab has decided to celebrate the 8^th March at all the villages of Military Farms Okara, Kulayan Military Estate Okara, Military Farms Renalkhurd and Army Welfare Trust Depalpur. The meetings at village level will take place on 8^th March. Peasant women leaders alongside with their male leaders will speak on the occasion. They will speak about the history of 8^th March and the importance of the day for fighting women rights. Women peasant leaders will demand an equal property rights for women at the meetings.

This is the first time that Anjamna Mozareen Punjab will celeberate the day at all 38 villages of different Publiuc Farms. A campaign for land rights at these Farms are going on since the year 2000.

AMP general secretary Mehr Abdul Sattar and chairman Liaqat Ali said in a press statement that peasant women has played a heroic role in the movement of the peasantry for land rights in Okara and other districts during the last 9 years. We will celebrate the International Women Day to pay tribute to the brave women struggle across the globe for women equal rights.
