Pakistani Workers Reject Government Plan to Privatize State own companies
Dear Comrades and friends,
Red salute and Revolutionary May Day greetings from All Pakistan Trade Union Federation!
The working class all over the world is commemorating 1st May International Labor Day and paying great tribute to Chicago martyrs who scarified their lives for better living and working conditions in 1886, for eight hours working day. Their struggle became the strong movement against imperialist capitalism, it is also a day of International solidarity to continue our struggle to end war and exploitative policies of Imperialist forces against the working class and poor masses.
May 1st is a day to commemorate the historic struggle of the workers throughout the world against Imperialism, capitalism, exploitation and for safe working condition and respect for the dignity of workers, it is also a day of special significance for the labor movement and a day of worldwide solidarity, a time to remember past struggles and demonstrate our hope for a better future. It is a day of long history as a day of united actions and struggles of working people for their pressing demands.
It is a day to analyze the struggle of workers and trade unions for emancipation and what they gain and what they lose, think over how to move forward against imperialist and capitalist oppression.
The Pakistani working class are celebrating May 1st in very crucial situation. It is the day of all workers around the world collectively with one voice to oppose the capitalist system and demand equal share and equal rights “No to IMF/World Bank, “No to Privatization”.
Pakistani government decide and signed an agreement with IMF/World Bank which restricted government of Pakistan to sale of public entities till December 15, 2015..We are very well known about the consequences of privatization accompanying mass retrenchment has clearly shown that it is not human development-oriented. It may cut costs – making things worse. The ruling classes sell this country to the US Imperialism and capitalists piece by piece through privatization. They are ready to sell Pakistan Railway, WAPDA, Pakistan International Airline, OGDC and also a state own banks. Because of the strong resistance by the workers, government unable to privatize state own companies.
To strengthen our struggle against privatization, contract labour, bonded labour system, unemployment, bad law and order and extremism. APTUF appeals to trade unions in all around the world to strengthen our struggle for peace, prosperity and workers progress and raise their voice against imperialist plan to privatize all state own companies say “No to IMF/World Bank” “No to Privatization”.
To pay tribute to Chicago Martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for workers rights and to extend the solidarity with workers movement around the world.
