The meeting was chaired by Naya Mia Sikder and conducted by Abdus Sattar Hawladar. Alhaj SM Shahzada MP, 113, Patuakhali-3 (Dashmina-Galachipa) spoke as the chief guest. Shamsunnahar Khan Dolly, Women Vice Chairman, Dashmina Upazila Parishad, General Secretary of the Central Committee of Bangladesh Krishok Federation Zayed Iqbal Khan, Pran Krishna Nath, Abdul Malek Gazi, Lokman Gazi, Women Leader Monowara Begum, Kamala Begum and others also spoke, among others.

The chief guest spoke about the struggling life of Sattar Khan and the struggles of various movements for the rights of landless people and said that the landless people living on Khasland in Dashmina Upazila could not get legal paper document on land. He announced to confirm the paperwork for the deed on the land. The chief guest also said that no one would be landless in Dashmina Upazila during the tenure of the present government.

The special guest, Dashmina Upazila Chairman, Abdul Aziz recalled, “I was assaulted by Jatiya Party’s goons along with Sattar’s uncle while protesting for the rights of the people.” The lessons that Sattar’s uncle taught us to fight for justice are still useful to us today.

The worthy daughter of Comrade Abdus Sattar Khan Dr. Samsunnahar Khan Dolly who is the female vice chairman of Dashmina Upazila said, “Since I am still alive with my father’s ideals, you have elected me by voting three consecutive times.” But I have not been able to fulfill your hopes and aspirations yet. If there are any mistakes in my way of walking, you will point fingers at me so that I can walk in the right way."

Dashmina Upazila Awami League general secretary Iqbal Mahmud Liton recalled, “When I was a student leader, a long march led by my uncle comrade Abdus Sattar Khan marched from Barisal on foot and reached Dhaka Central Shaheed Minar after 7 days and handed over a memorandum with 7 demands to the government.
