The 1968 revolt in France started with radical student protests, events rapidly grew into a 10-million worker strike, in which trade unions raised 40-60-1000 requirements: implementation of a 40-hour work week, retirement age at 60, minimum wage you are in 1000 francs. Eventually, the protests undermined President Charles de Gaulle’s power.
Since then, Krivine and other left-wing revolutionaries have pursued a far-reaching goal of changing the capitalist and Soviet bureaucratic model into society, truly based on freedom and s solidarity.
Impressed by the revolutionary events in Ukraine, Alain Krivine attended a demonstration in Kyiv 2015. Afterwards, as a guest of honor, he joined the conference of the Ukrainian Left, in which, left-wing and trade union activists voted for the name of the future left party “Social movement”.
Today we are grateful to his comrades from the New Anticapitalist Party France, who consistently support the Ukrainian people against Putin’s imperialism.
Rest in peace, comrade. The fight for a better world will continue!
