In the end, the protests undermined the power of President Charles de Gaulle, but Crivin and other left-wing revolutionaries pursued a much more far-reaching goal of changing the capitalist and Soviet bureaucratic models into a society truly based on freedom and solidarity.
Impressed by the revolutionary events on the squares of Ukraine, Alain Krivine attended the May Day demonstration in Kyiv in 2015. Afterwards, he joined the Ukrainian Left Conference as a guest of honor, during which left-wing and trade union activists voted for the name of the future left-wing Social Movement party. Today, we are grateful to his comrades from the New Anti-Capitalist Party, who have consistently spoken out in support of the Ukrainian people against Putin’s imperialism.
Sleep well, comrade. The struggle for a better world will continue.
