Today, November 30, 2022, Bakul Begum, the leader of Ward No. 9 Mujibnagar Union Landless Cooperative Samity of Charfashion Upazila of Bhola District, Central Leader of Bangladesh Kishani Sabha, wife of Alam Bachchu, Central Member of Bangladesh Krishok Federation and President of Bhola District, General Secretary of Mujibnagar Landless Cooperative Society was hacked to death by a group of identified terrorists late at night with domestic sharp weapons and Bakul’s elder sister Mukul Begum was hacked to serious injury.

Mukul was shifted to Barishal Shere-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital in a coma state for treatment. Bakul Begum’s body was sent to Bhola Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem by the Dular Hat police station.

It is noted that on the night of November 29, 2022, Bakul Begum’s husband Alam Bachchu Melkar went out to the mainland to take bail in a case at Bhola Sadar along with Abdul Malek member.

Bakul Begum and Mukul Begum, two sisters, slept together in the same bed. In the dead of the night, thinking that the husband and wife were sleeping together, the identified terrorists attacked and brutally killed Bakul Begum with local sharp weapons.

In her lifetime, Bakul Begum filed complaints with Dular Hat Police Station, the Superintendent of Police and District Commissioner of Bhola, fearing that she and her husband would be killed.
