It’s winter in Bangladesh. Normally, winter beggins here in mid-November. But due to climate change, it is now arriving later. This year, the winter cold wave started recently, a few days ago, and will last a little longer, until March.
Today, the cold is becoming more intense, day after day, as is the suffering of the poor in rural areas. They need warm clothes to escape freezing. However, poverty does not allow them to buy them. That’s why they need the help of healthy people.
The Bangladesh Krishok Federation supports people affected by the cold almost every year. It does this by raising funds. This year, it started with the Kurigram district, one of the worst-hit areas in northern Bangladesh.
We decided to collect warm clothing in urban areas, where the middle class is sensitive to the needs of people in distress in the countryside.
