Dear partners,
Last week, we launched a crowdfunding campaign calling for our community to support B’Tselem and take a stand for the truth. The responses have been incredibly uplifting.
We’re not alone in feeling the groundswell of support. Over the weekend, two donors contacted me after seeing the outpouring of solidarity from hundreds of supporters, most of them Israelis. They pledged to double any donation we raise from today until this Thursday, 26 December.
I invite you to join us in support of truth, justice, humanity and freedom. Any contribution you make is an act of resistance against the war and a stand for a better, just future.
Stay human. Support B’Tselem

Some things are too much for the mind and the heart to bear, even after the fact. The last year has been full of such occurrences in this place we call home. I keep feeling “this can’t be happening.” That first struck me with full force on the morning of October 7, 2023, when I grabbed my ten-day-old son and ran with him to the nearest shelter. Since the heinous attack by Hamas, which no one could have believed possible, our reality has continued to spiral into new depths of violence and horror.
Millions have been displaced and are fighting to survive, defenseless, starving and exposed to the elements, without a clue what their future holds. Tens of thousands of civilians have been killed in thousands of indiscriminate attacks and entire cities laid to waste by Israel. For over a year, not a day has gone by without horrific war crimes being committed on the orders of the Israeli government, with catastrophic consequences for human lives and human rights.
B’Tselem has 35 years of experience documenting and investigating human rights violations, and publishing reliable information and analysis. The reputation we have earned for uncompromising professionalism lends weight to our voice worldwide. We take this responsibility very seriously. It strengthens our commitment to document, research, and analyze reality and bring it to light. Now we need your help : until December 26, Christmas and the first day of Hanukkah, every cent you donate will be doubled.

I’m so proud of our team – Palestinians and Jews who live in the West Bank, within Israel and in the Gaza Strip – that insist on continuing to work together for the future of this place, even when it feels like every force in the region is working to tear us apart.
Morally, socially, and politically, the only way to confront an increasingly violent and oppressive regime is to tell the truth. The truth is a weak spot for oppressive regimes. There’s a reason they go to such lengths to hide it. There’s a reason we, at B’Tselem, insist on exposing it.
Defending human rights isn’t an academic exercise. In a political space that has forsaken humanistic values and its duty to protect human rights, we are all, without exception, in danger. That is how the Israeli hostages have been abandoned. Their lives, too, are devalued, overshadowed by an agenda of expansionism and Jewish supremacy.
We insist on believing things can be different here.
Now, more than ever, our shared mission is to stand together and reaffirm our deep, uncompromising commitment to our shared values : protecting people and their human rights. Join us.
Yours,
Yuli Novak
