Dear friends and compassionate supporters,
In August 2025, northern Bangladesh—including Rajshahi, Pabna, Lalmonirhat, Kurigram, Rangpur, Gaibandha, and Nilphamari—was devastated by severe flooding. The floods were caused by continuous heavy monsoon rainfall in both Bangladesh and upstream regions in India, combined with overflowing rivers crossing the border, leading to widespread inundation. Over 100,000 people have been affected, with thousands of families stranded, crops destroyed, homes damaged, schools closed, and essential infrastructure disrupted. Children, the elderly, women, and people with disabilities are at extreme risk. Many families currently lack access to safe food, clean water, and shelter.
At this critical moment, under the leadership of the Bangladesh Krishok Federation, we aim to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to 100 severely affected farming families. Each family will receive support to meet their essential needs, including:
Food items: 50 kg of rice, 5 kg of lentils, 2 liters of oil, and dry food items such as noodles and biscuits
Safe water: 20 liters of bottled water or a water purification kit
Health and hygiene supplies: soap, sanitary pads, masks, and hand sanitizer
Shelter: tents, blankets, and mosquito nets
Basic medical care and medicines, where needed.
The total budget for this project is BDT 500,000. These funds will cover food, water, health and hygiene supplies, shelter, and local logistics. The project will be implemented and managed by leaders and activists of our organization, along with local volunteers as needed.
We make an earnest appeal to our international friends —those who understand the value of humanitarian solidarity and global compassion. Even a small contribution can become a beacon of hope for these families in distress. Together, we can ensure that, despite the intensity of the floods and the scale of damage, affected families receive protection, food, water, shelter, and hygiene support.
Your support will deliver life-saving aid, help families cope with the disaster, and restore their human dignity. We sincerely invite you to join this humanitarian initiative and stand with the flood-affected farming families of northern Bangladesh.
With gratitude,
Badru Alam
