More than 1,000 Israelis, Arabs and Jews, as well a couple of hundred of internationals and a Palestinian delegation that came from Ramallah and East Jerusalem participated in a Solidarity convoy to the besieged Gaza Strip. With two trucks of food supply and strong demand to lift the siege on 1.5 million human beings.
The convoy was organized by a broad coalition of Israeli organizations, movements and political parties, active against the occupation; a substantial part of the demonstrators were, however, usually-non-active men and women, who feel horrified by the blatant Israeli violation of international humanitarian law, and what many of the demonstrators characterize as war crimes.
Though the Gaza convoy was not officially part of the International Day of Mobilization initiated by the World Social Forum, for many of the organizers and demonstrators, it was our way to participate in the Day of Action, and to put the martyrdom of Gaza in the framework of the international demonstration.

During a public meeting in Rome, organised by Action for Peace, in support of the campaign end gaza siege and in the framework of the global day of action - Wsf - with Lama Hourani, from Gaza; Noam Livne, Courage to refuse, from Tel Aviv, and Basel Mansour from Bil’in - we could establish a contact with the Solidarity Convoy (Angela Godfrey ) and Gaza (Ejad Sarraji): for all the 150 partcipants attending the meeting in a full room it was really important and moving. After the meeting there was a candles vigil in front of the American Embassy, against the war and in solidarity with Gaza and all the palestinians.
Thanks to all the organisers and participants in this great solidarity convoy!
