Since 2004 – the year when a devastating tsunami hit the coasts of the Indian Ocean —, Europe solidaire sans frontières (ESSF) launched a number of financial campaigns to assist Asian victims of humanitarian disasters. Financial update of the 2011 Pakistan Solidarity Campaign

As of October 9, 2012, fifteen thousands one hundred twenty-five (15,125) euros were collected and fourteen thousand seven hundred sixty-five (14,765) euros were sent in the framework of the ongoing solidarity campaign for Pakistan. The donations were transferred through the Pakistani organization, Labour Education Foundation (LEF) with which ESSF has been collaborating for a long time now for various solidarity initiatives. Japan: Update on fund raising and solidarity

The funds collected by ESSF are sent to the North-East region of the National Trade Union Council (NTUC). For reasons of effectiveness, we have for the time being chosen to concentrate our efforts in its direction, because it operates directly within the disaster area and can take into account all dimensions of solidarity (emergency aid, defence of social rights, antinuclear mobilization…).
