The Salween River is under threat. The governments Burma, Thailand and China have been pushing forward with plans to dam this still free-flowing river. The dams will have major impact on the local ethnic people, who will suffer displacement and dispossession. There have already been gross human rights violations and massive population displacement. In order to bring an immediate halt to the Salween dam plans, urgent action is needed.
