The Dominica Trade Union (DTU) is very concerned about the long impasse which exists in our neighboring sister island Guadeloupe since the 24^th. January 2009. The hard working poor people of Guadeloupe and Martinique are the ones most affected as a result. In the interest of peace, freedom and democracy the Dominica Trade Union as a member of the ITUC, IUF, and CCL call on you Sir and the rest of the French Authority being a member of the UN and ILO to treat in good faith the lawful representatives of the workers of Guadeloupe and Martinique by entering into positive negotiations with them for a peaceful and amicable settlement to the impasse without the use of Arm Force and violence.
