The Coalition of Women for Peace (CWP) applauds the courageous effort of the “Break the Siege” sail to Gaza. This fleet of boats represents the finest tradition of solidarity and responsibility of committed individuals and social movements to achieve justice and freedom.
We regret that many governments do not show the same concern as the participants in this fleet and do not act according to their responsibility towards the people of Gaza. We call upon the international community - individuals, social movements, and governments alike - to use all non-violent means to break the siege of Gaza and end the occupation of Palestine.
CWP further condemns the threats made by the Israeli government, stated publicly in the media and elsewhere, to prevent the delivery of humanitarian aid and to stop the boats from arriving at the Gaza Port. As we have done many times in the past, we continue to condemn the Israeli imposed Siege of Gaza and call for its immediate removal.
