Mahinda has banned the Ban Ki Moon committee. According to government media the committee members will not be issued with visa; so that none of them could visit Lanka for first hand information. In fact if Mahinda is serious, this amounts to challenging the politics of western powers. Because, as I said before in this column, the UNO is not a free and democratic association of world states. It is an international political institute under the hegemony of global powers. On 14 March 2010 in this column I said “We cannot have illusions about the United Nations Organization. It is not an elected world government. Or even a world parliament on the lines of the European parliament, which can be assumed to be a sort of European bourgeois democracy. No, the UN is nowhere near it as a global parliament. It is clearly a political organ of the world powers that works to preserve the political interests of the global capital.” In the past when Russia and China were supposed to be communist, there was a semblance of protection for the smaller states within the UNO. Even then the monstrously dictatorial Stalinist communist states intervened only for their own retrogressive political gains. Today Russia may make a noise but it is futile to expect anything but noise from them as G8 and G20 are more important to them than the fate of a small state. In any case Mahinda is not a Castro or even a Hugo Chavez. Ofcourse not. In fact, even Saddam Hussein was an enemy of world powers in his own way. Mahinda is not even that. He is a servant of global capital, who followed the dictates of neo liberal economics and anti terrorist politics of masters.

So, the global capitalist powers expect Mahinda to eat the cake and have it. US - Indian powers ,the yanki monki combination, gave every instruction to Mahinda to make the genocidal attack on Lankan Tamil nationality, gave every kind of killing machines for this purpose and forced him politically and economically to create this human disaster in this miserable country. Lanka is, and was for so many a decade, a country where half are classified to be poor and 40% under malnutrition. Using the war as a tactic the global powers have taken the reins into their hand. By being a puppet to global capitalism Mahinda has lost all his credentials as a nationalist populist leader. He is now not only an enemy of the Tamil poor but also a betrayer of the Sinhala workers and other plebeians. His cries and challenges are in vain. Even a slave who becomes a gladiator for the master, to crush and rob free communities and tribes, cannot challenge Rome; because he cannot win the heart and soul of the oppressed.

So Mahinda and his loyal adjutants such as Wimal Weerawansa can scream at the gallery to arouse the liberation instincts of the poor masses. But it is not even a tragedy but a hilarious act. Mahinda has become the main agent of the global capital and the system of Multi National Companies. He does every thing according to the dictates of the money lenders.

IMF and other money lenders are making stringent political and economic demands. His threats and excuses will certainly amuse these ruling global powers. But they will put their foot down and demand their pound of flesh. In order to face this abominable domination we have to unite the people of Lanka, displacing Mahinda, on the basis of right of self determination and win the trust of the world humanity.
