KARACHI, A demonstration was arranged by Different NGOs and Civil Society Organizations, demanding the government to completely repeal the Hudood Ordinance, in front of Karachi Press Club on July 10. In which a large number of women participated. The protesters were carrying banners and placards with their demands written on them and were also chanting slogans in support of their demands. The slogans on placards and banners were such as “stop misuse of religion Islam” “give equal rights to women” , “repeal the Hudood Ordinance”, “Hudood Laws loaded against women’ rights” "revoke all the discriminatory laws against women”.
Participants demanded that the entire Hudood Ordinances be abolished immediately and law making be done through the parliament. Hudood Ordinances were the brainchild of dictator General Zia-ul-Haq who himself was non-elected and had no right to legislate such discriminatory laws.
They said that since the Hudood Ordinances were inserted into the constitution through the eighth amendment, the entire amendment be scrapped by the parliament.
Representatives of Action Aid Pakistan, Labour Education Foundation (LEF), PDI, Shirkat Gah, Labour Party Pakistan, Pakistan Mahigir Tehreek, Birds Badin, and other organizations participated in the demonstration.

KARACHI, July 10: Speakers at a demonstration organised by an NGO, the Actionaid at the Press Club on Monday, demanded of the government to repeal the Hudood Ordinances.
Majority of the demonstrators belonged to the coastal areas of Thatta and Badin districts.
They demanded that the entire Hudood Ordinances be abolished immediately and law making be done through the parliament.
They said that since the Hudood Ordinances were inserted into the constitution through the eighth amendment, the entire amendment be scrapped by the parliament.
The protesters were carrying banners with their demands written on them and were also chanting slogans in support of their demands.
Representatives of various NGOs also participated in the demonstration.
