The Declaration of The preparatory committee of National Liberation party of Unity (KP – PAPERNAS) at East Java Branch on Sunday (17/09) was intimidated by the militia group, called themselves as ” Tauhid anti-communist movement” (GERTAK).

Aim at dismissing the declaration , 40 people armed with sharp stuff gathered in front of Balai Rakyat Dr Soetorno, East Java, the place where the conference were took place. Gertak accused KP PAPERNAS as communist organization due to participation of the organization of victim of 65 tragedy (LKPK). While delivering the speech in front of the location, the group tore down the Papernas Banners.

Responded to the situation, Fajar Aditya, Leader of KP PAPERNAS East Java said that as a democratic alliance KP PAPERNAS aim to liberate the people from the imperialist domination and welcomes every element which agree to the platform and struggle to realize the platform. “ LKPK is the instrument of the victim of human right violation under new order government of Suharto to struggle for their rights and to fight for democracy, Papernas support their struggle to uphold the justice”. “We do not only struggle along the victim of 1965 human rights violation , but also the victim of other case human rights violation “ He added.

“Militia action is feigned , yet it is not the new thing” said KP PAPERNAS Chairperson, Dominggus Oktavianus. “The group which use religious symbol always come out in the midst of the success of movement consolidation, the religious symbol are used as a politic instrument however elite interest whose worry about rise of people’s movement conceal behind this action.“ He added.

The declaration itself were attended by 400 participants, mostly participated by the workers and the urban poor. Political speech and the people’s performance presented in the declaration.

KP PAPERNAS Poso Branch Call for the Independent Fact Finding Team

Various Non government organizations based in Poso, Central Sulawesi established the Preparatory committee of The national Liberation party of Unity (KP-Papernas). Among other are the Community of Poso Youth (KPKP), The Institution for community empowerment (LPMS), The Forum of Poso Civil Society (FSMP), The Institution for Nature (Yepal) and Wasantra Poso. The conference elected M. Taufik and Warda as a leader and secretary of KP Papernas Branch in Poso.

Adriany Badrah, a women activist who is also Presidium member said the KP - Papernas aim to unify the social movement and to promote the alternative solution as the answer the people’s problem in economic, politic , social and cultural. In this province alone KP-Papernas has existed in the district of Palu, Toli-tolo, Boul, Parigi Moutong, Poso, and Luwuk. “The foremost reason is the distrust to the ruling parties on parliament which have been scarifying the people through their neoliberal policy” she said. The cut to subsidy, the increase of fuel price rise, has increase the poverty” she added

Papernas Promote the three banners of unity as the main program: Repudiation of Foreign debt, nationalizing mining industry, a National industry program for people’s welfare. Papernas will not only concerned to the national issues, but also bring the solution to local and regional.

In Poso, where the ongoing conflict has been taken place, KP Papernas will raise two major solutions, the establishment of independent fact finding team to solve Poso Conflict, Put financial aids corruptor on jail as well as taking over their asset for people’s welfare.
