We are a French airline Union present in dozens of company in this sector, airport Airlines (such as Air France) and businesses of assistance companies. We would like to express our solidarity with the PAL employees and their Union PALEA leading a fight against the attacks suffered by the employees of Philippine Airlines for many years.
Since 1997, the leaders of PAL did suffer heavy social attacks (suspension of the collective bargaining, wage freezes) at the time of the Asian crisis. Then, with the resumption of the expansion, the management decided to outsource thousands of jobs. The reaction and the strikes of employees of PAL led a violent crackdown and 2,400 workers were locked-out and fired. Two Union members of PALEA was put in prison for their trade union activity. Today, 1,000 members of PALEA struggle for their reinstatement. We require PAL and M.Tan they give satisfaction to their requests.

We communicate our statement to Airbus Unions at the moment when PAL decided to buy 100 new planes, a big majority of which will be Airbus aircrafts.
