ABOUT ANPFA
All Nepal Peasants Federation (ANPFa) is an umbrella association of entire Nepali peasants fighting against feudalism, imperialism and neo-liberalism. It is fighting for the agrarian reform and peasants rights for last 6 decades since its inception in 1951 AD. In the new context of democratic republic of Nepal with the abolition of feudalism, Nepal is on the way to new-socialism. ANPFa has thus re-structured its organization to form commodity and community based associations.
ANPFa is the largest peasant federation in Nepal and an alliance of 23 national level subjects specific producers organizations. It is a membership based mass organization having its structure in all 5 development regions, 14 zones and 75 districts of Nepal. It had been very active in mobilizing masses for democratic freedom, peasants right and land reform in the past and of recently for food sovereignty, right to food and climate justice. It has played decisive part in various movements of democratic peasants uprising and restoration of peoples sovereignty along with women and youth movements of Nepal. Thus its role in peoples movement I and II along with comprehensive peace agreement of 2006 was vibrant.
Presently it has been launching various campaigning and lobbying activities on Food Sovereignty and Right to Food and advocacy at peoples inclusive participation focusing on indigenous, marginalized, disadvantaged people, women and Dalits. It has also been conducting various advocacy, campaign and awareness programs and researches at grass roots on climate crisis, market economy hazards, land governance and grabbing, aid effectiveness, debt illegitimacy, peasants rights and other issues closely related to peasants and agriculture.
Main issues of ANPFa
The main agenda of ANPFA has been asserting genuine agrarian reforms ensuring livelihood to landless and marginal farmers. The main focuses were to ensure womens, indigenous, Dalit and minority groups participation in the decision making process while formulating policies and the programs targeting peasants, small farmers, fisher folks, share croppers and other producers.
Right to adequate food as human first fundamental right with food sovereign country is its main agenda.

MISSION/VISION/OBJECTIVE
Mission:
We endeavor to be a very strong and influential voice of small scale farmers in Nepal and all over the world. We attempt to be a lobby and advocacy group for farmers rights and development, genuine agrarian reform and mainstreaming of sustainable agriculture in international, regional and national policies and programs. We also want to be a facilitator for our members commercial activities in trading and marketing of sustainable agricultural products and their movement against the globalization. We are also a venue for solidarity and exchange of information on agriculture and farmers development among our members. We anticipate holding the farmers in adaptation and resilience of farmers through research and advocacy and campaign at national and international level for the mitigation of climate crisis caused by the greed of capitalist nations. We work for the mobilization of all section of Peasants populace in favor of genuine agrarian reforms, revamp democratization process for eradication of feudalism, organize protest on anti-peasants activities and policies of imperialist, WTO and IFIs; promote and conserve farm culture and traditional wisdom and biodiversity oriented farm practices.
Vision:
ANPFa envision sovereign individuals in an equitable neo-socialist society enjoying their rights for dignified life in the food sovereignty governance system.
– Where we, small scale men and women peasants and producers, and our families as well, are free from hunger and poverty, are happy and in good health, and live in peace and prosperity;
– Where we own or have access and control over the lands and other basic productive resources; nurture our farmlands through appropriate, integrated and environment-friendly agricultural practices and technologies, get fair market for our products, have control over our goods and services; and take nutritious, organic and culturally appropriate food, and
– Where we are self-reliant, educated and able to participate in development processes through politically strong, socially responsive, culturally sensitive and economically viable farmers organizations.
Objectives:
*To mobilize all section of Peasants populace in favor of genuine agrarian reforms
*To strengthen and empower peasants movements through awareness building and organizational discipline to activate their inherent rights.
*To surge struggle forward in favour of food sovereignty, sustainable agriculture development and revolutionary land reforms opposing neo-liberal led development model of agriculture.
*To promote professionalism, industrialization and extension of market in agriculture.
*To activate agri-co-operative movements, promote BEA and organic farming.
*To build pressure on government to proclaim genuine agrarian reforms to empower and ensure tiller peasants to access land and other food productive assets and infrastructures.
*To organize training, conduct researches and capacity enhancement programs, seminar, workshops and empowerment programs on agrarian issues.
*To facilitated info system for the benefit of large masses of peasants to make them more competitive and quality conscious.
*To arm peasants masses with solidarity spirit regarding international peasants movements, people based farmer movements, neo-liberalist anti- peasant policies serving the interest of comprador capitalists, TNCs etc.
*To promote exchange of peasants visits, both inside and outside the country to generate peasant brotherhood and understanding at wider/respective.
*To initiate and mobilize co-working with all peasants associations, both national and international, to help build common program of action and promote peasants networking to respect and realize peasants interest rights.
*To advocate, lobby and launch campaign for peasants rights, climate justice and right to food.
*Romote sustainable agricultural policies and biodiversity based ecological practices;
*Study and promote alternatives to economic globalization and oppose WTO, MNCs, WB in agriculture, promote fair and just treatment of farmers in developing countries;
*Push for UNO provisions on access to farm resources and rural development and protection of farmers rights;
*Strengthen ANPFa at the national and regional levels so it becomes able to participate in international development processes.
MEMBERSHIP AND NETWORKING
International Alliances
Global Network: All Nepal Peasants Federation (ANPFa) is member of La Via Campesina which is the international movement that brings together millions of peasants, small and medium-size farmers, landless people, women farmers, indigenous people, migrants and agricultural workers from around the world. It defends small-scale sustainable agriculture as a way to promote social justice and dignity.
Continental Network: In Asia, ANPFa is active member of Asian Peasant Coalition , APC is an Asia-wide peasant coalition of farmers, landless peasants, fisherfolks, agricultural workers, dalit, indigenous peoples, herders, pastoralists, peasant women and rural youth. It held its 1st general assembly (GA) in November 2004 in Bangladesh, and the 2nd GA in December 2006 in Indonesia.. It has more than 15 million members representing 33 organizations coming from 9 countries in Asia such as Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines and Sri Lanka.
Regional Network: ANPFa is member as well as coordinating the South Asian Peasant Coalition (SAPC) which is a network of peasant organizations at the South Asian level committed to strengthen networks in the interest of the people’s movements in South Asia. SAPC expresses their firm determination to build a strong and sustained struggle against their common enemies in order to achieve a radical transformation of society, SAPC is hopeful that they will win in their struggle, as their working classes, peasants, women, indigenous people and other sections of the toiling masses are the advanced forces aspiring for radical change in society. ANPFa chairmen Mr. Bamdev Gautam is also a president of South Asia Peasant Coalition.
National Alliances
ANPFa is currently the secretariat as well as coordinating the National Peasants Coalition-NPC, which is the consortium of Nepalese major farmer’s organizations for advocating the issue of Peasants Right, Genuine Agrarian Reform, Social Justice, Right to Food and Climate Justice. Since its formulation in 2001, it has played a decisive role in various activities of democratic process, peasant rights; strengthen peasant’s capacity and people’s sovereignty along with women, youth, indigenous and Dalits. Similarly, it has actively participated in various events of agriculture policy making, planning, implementing and monitoring/evaluating process of Nepal. NPC includes more than 12 farmer’s organizations (FOs) representing over millions of small-scale farming families and marginal farmers from all over the country. They are: All Nepal Peasants Federation (ANPFa), Nepal Farmer Association, All Nepal Peasants Federation Revolutionary, Nepal Farmers Federation ,Women Farmers Association, Youth Farmers Association, National Federation of Irrigation Water users Association of Nepal, Dalit Farmers Association, Federation of Community Forestry Users Nepal and so on.
