To the WSF working group for 2008 global mobilization
A PROPOSAL FOR 2008 GLOBAL MOBILIZATION
Some of the Italian networks and organizations most involved in the WSF process met in Rome on December 1st.
We discussed of the important decision took by the WSF International Council concerning the 2008 global mobilization.
After that meeting, in order to contribute to the beginning of the international debate, we send all of you the following proposal:
1. the 2008 global mobilization is an extraordinary opportunity to give strength and common visibility to the large alliance for global change made by many different cultures and experiences, articulated in so many struggles, networks, campaigns, actions and thematics at the global, continental, regional, national and local level.
2. the 2008 global mobilization is a big occasion to fasten the change of the global political agenda and to support movements committed all over the world to build an alternative to the existing reality, in the year of the Presidential elections in the USA.
3. we propose to promote the 2008 global mobilization as:
MARCH OF DIGNITY
THE ALTERNATIVE GLOBAL ALLIANCE
for changing the world political agenda
4. we propose that 2008 global mobilization will be organized as a week of different events allover the world self-organized by the involved movements, networks and organizations.
5. we proposed to devote the week-end (Saturday and Sunday) to mass mobilizations, in order to realize a World Social Forum in the streets all over the world.
6. the date can be, if there will be consensus, in the same period of Davos summit.
